HarmonyOS 4.0 second phase developer beta begins

Huawei has begun the second phase of the HarmonyOS 4.0 developer beta for a whole bunch of smartphones and tablets. These phone users can now participate in the activity to get a number of new features ahead of public release. The participating devices are:

Smartphones:

• Huawei Mate 50E, Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro 4G, Mate 40E Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, Mate 40 RS Porsche Design (including Collector’s Edition), Mate X2 4G, Mate X2 (including Collector’s Edition), Mate Xs 2 (including Collector’s Edition), P50, P50 Pro (including Collector’s Edition), P50E, P50 Pocket (including Art Custom Edition), Pocket S, nova 11, nova 11 Pro, nova 11 Ultra.

Tablet:

• Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6-inch 2021, MatePad Pro 12.6-inch 2022.

Recruitment Period:

According to the official announcement, HarmonyOS 4.0 second phase developer beta is open for registration from July 6, 2023, to July 19, 2023, at 23:00. On the other hand, the application review will start from July 7th, until July 25, 2023. Therefore, the beta build will start to push from July 7 onwards via the OTA update method.

Sign up:

To sign up, users of the above-mentioned devices will have to first download the base HarmonyOS 3.0 version to become eligible for registration. Now, open the My Huawei app, home page, and tap on early adopters to upgrade. From here tap on the early adopter application and submit your request.

It is reported that the Hongmeng OS 4.0 developer beta comes with a better user experience with the ArkTS language. The build also provides a stage model, ArkUI-enhanced components, and many functions of DevEco Studio to bring convenient and efficient application development.

With this second phase, Huawei is now moving to test-run all of the smartphones for this next-generation OS.
