These are the HarmonyOS 3.1 features rolling out for HarmonyOS 3.0 devices

Recently, Huawei started releasing a new software update for the HarmonyOS 3 smartphones. Given the fact that this is no ordinary update, it has a bunch of new features. we’ve now come to an understanding that these new additions belong to HarmonyOS 3.1 and come directly to HarmonyOS 3.0 without a major change in the build version.

Huawei has already installed this update in its flagship. While more are preparing to catch this upgrade next month. Yet, the new feature package weighs only over 1GB.

How to identify this as a HarmonyOS 3.1 update? Well, the changes in this update were tested within HarmonyOS 3.1 developer beta. Also, the stable release with the Huawei P60 series also mentions such a feature.

However, we still don’t have an official confirmation, of whether Huawei has planned a separate HarmonyOS 3.1 rollout.

• Allows documents to be previewed in one step, so you no longer have to select an app to open the file with first.
• Allows call audio to be switched between the speaker, earpiece, and Bluetooth devices via Multi-device Audio Control.
• Optimizes the Huawei Print screen, making it easier to print documents in a single touch through a simplified and unified entry.
• Optimizes system performance, providing a smoother experience when scrolling and swiping through screens and opening apps. You’ll also find your device loads quickly even when you stop an animation effect before it has finished.
• Adds a quick download shortcut for Petal Lite Games to the home screen. Touch the shortcut to download the app.

These features for HarmonyOS 3.0 devices swiftly suit for a half-yearly update and we can call it a non-versioned HarmonyOS 3.1 release.
