HarmonyOS 2 has been built with a lot of new software and user interface optimizations that allow you to make the most out of this new operating system at the lowest amount of device memory.

With HarmonyOS 2, Huawei has stopped developing new major versions of EMUI but the company keeps sending new software updates for the users that are still running the Android-based EMUI software system.

There are different debates on the features and the specialties of the HarmonyOS and how it differentiates from Android.

Since we’ve already compared EMUI 11 with HarmonyOS 2 in terms of the boot speed battle, now we’re heading for a showdown between this new OS and the Android-powered software of Chinese smartphone maker – Xiaomi.

Xiaomi devices are powered by its Android-based custom skin – MIUI, and we’ll be using the latest version MIUI 12.5 for this test.

So, what we’ve found in HarmonyOS 2 vs MIUI 12.5 boot speed comparison test?

Well, HarmonyOS 2 powered device reboot way faster at around 31 seconds than the Xiaomi device with MIUI 12.5, which completes the reboot process at 44 seconds, which gives a clear edge to HarmonyOS 2 and a heavy defeat for MIUI 12.5.
