First Electric Car of Huawei and BAIC BluePark will launch in April 2021
In the past, it was reported that Huawei is preparing itself to launch some models of electric vehicles in 2021. Also, Huawei was in talks with state-owned Changan Automobile, BAIC group, and other automakers to use their car plants to make electric vehicles (EVs).

In response to this, BAIC BluePark officially responded that BAIC and Huawei have joined hands. These two brands have been together for more than three years. The content of the cooperation is not OEM manufacturing, but the launch of a joint model-ARCFOX HBT.
BAIC said the first joint manufactured car model ARCFOX αS HBT will be revealed at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2021, where HBT belongs to Huawei BluePark Together.
According to the previous info, in 2017, Huawei and BAIC Group jointly announced their deepening cooperation. Also, inaugurated the 1873 Davidson Innovation Laboratory to develop core technologies and build high-end smart electric vehicles.
During the Shanghai Auto Show 2019, Huawei’s rotating chairman Xu Zhijun publicized that two partners, Huawei and BAIC, would build a world-class car in near future.

Huawei’s lidar is rich in application scenarios, such as small long-distance obstacles, short-distance stoppages, near-end protrusions, tunnels, crossroads, basements, etc. in the actual driving process, and it also has high-speed vehicle detection ability.
Wang Jun, President of Huawei Smart Car Solutions BU, revealed that Huawei plans to reduce the cost of lidar to US$200 or even US$100 in the future.
Before Huawei, Tesla was the most confident brand in the field of autonomous driving. But the technical level and cost control capabilities of Huawei’s solution even made Tesla’s boss Musk unable to sleep.
As of now, Huawei has three kinds of lidar configuration schemes: single, 2, and 3 lidars. BAIC BluePark ARCFOX Polar Fox αS HBT model will adopt the most advanced 3 lidar carrying plan.
According to the information, this new car solution will be equipped with 6-millimeter wave radars, 12 cameras, 13 ultrasonic radars, and a Huawei chip with a computing power of up to 352Tops, forming an autonomous driving solution above the L3 level. This computing power will be the highest among mass-produced cars.
