Exclusive: Huawei registers “HongMeng” trademark all around the globe
On August 2018, Huawei registered Hongmeng trademark at China’s Trademark Office of national intellectual property administration, that was approved on May 14, 2019, and expiry date of May 13, 2029.

And now, we’ve confirmed that Huawei has filed the “HongMeng” trademark applications in almost every possible intellectual property organizations around the globe.
According to our information, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., has filed trademark registration application for “HongMeng” in the following countries:
- Canada
- Mexico
- Spain
- South Korea
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Peru
- Turkey
- Philippines
- European Countries
Trademark filed with the related name has been categorized under a big list of subcategories including “Operating System”. Similar to the Chinese trademark application, these applications also indicate support for various platforms including Notebooks, Smartphones, Tablets, SmartWatches, Wearables, IoT and many more.
There could be more countries that we haven’t looked at but it’s worth noting that we haven’t found “ARK OS” trademark on any other regions than Europe. Moreover, we also haven’t found the name “Oak OS” on any of the trademark organizations at all.

Although, Google has shown its concerns on Huawei’s self-developed OS but the Chinese tech giant seems to be moving very fast in the direction of launching it among consumers and it looks like it’s gonna happen very soon, yet still the company has to confirm the trademarked name.
