This week in EMUI Weekly, Huawei was spotted pushing the February 2024 software for the Huawei Mate 50 Pro smartphone. This update comes as the wait for a major release continues to expand.

Its predecessor, Huawei Mate 40 Pro also grabbed January 2024 security patch to improve the phone’s security system. This software is identified with EMUI version 13.0.0.260 and it’s a regular-sized download package.

Compared to the Huawei Mate 50 Pro, the Mate 40 Pro may not get the next major software release. But there’s no certainty on that part at the moment.

Huawei’s Watch GT 3 users receiving January 2024 security for improved system security. This update is dispatched for global watches running software version 3.0.0.172 and requires the latest version of the Huawei Health App. You can update the app via AppGallery to get the newest features.

Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 is another smart wearable to install connectivity improvement in the Bluetooth section. Users of this device should get this software as soon as it appears. If you don’t see the notification, open up the “AI Life” app and check for a new update from the section at the bottom of the device settings.

P40 Pro, Huawei’s last 5G P-series smartphone for global customers, received a 12.0.0.370 build version. The update, similar to other rollouts, only brought January 2023 security patches to improve the EMUI software. The device has still not found a way to direct itself toward EMUI 13.

Huawei P40 Lite followed the Pro model and installed a patch over the existing EMUI 12 firmware. Based on the changelog, this update improved communication for the device in certain scenarios. It simply means that the phone will optimize the phone’s network connectivity after the upgrade.

Last but not least, Huawei also launched a January 2024 security patch for the foldable Mate X3 with global firmware version 13.1.0.195.

That’s it for this week but more EMUI and other software updates are coming for the global Huawei devices.
