EMUI 9.1 update may come to Huawei P20 and P20 Pro in early August globally
Huawei already rolled out the stable version of EMUI 9.1 update for Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro in China. Recently, the stable EMUI 9.1 update was available for the few lucky P20 series users through HiCare application.
According to our information, Huawei may release the stable EMUI 9.1 update for the P20 and P20 Pro in late July or early August. This timeline for global users.
This is good news for every Huawei P20 series owners. Also, we want to tell you that the latest stable update will be available on HiCare application in August but it could be available early depending on your region and network conditions.
The EMUI 9.1 is built on top of Android 9 Pie and installs new user-friendly interface, new UI design, features including GPU Turbo 3.0, EROFS file system, Huawei Vlog, AI Assitant and many more. Also, the update comes with the latest July 2019 security patch.

If you want to check for the update manually you can do this by following the instruction below:
Go to Settings > System > Software update > Check for Updates. If an update is available, it’ll ask if you want to download it.
If the update does not appear in the settings, we recommend you to request it via HiCare App:
Go to HiCare app > tap on Update > click on the checkbox and hit Apply.
