EMUI 14.2 features rolling out for Huawei Mate 50 Pro

Huawei is now bringing the feature-rich EMUI 14.2 upgrade for the Mate 50 Pro users. With this release, device owners will fetch an interactive experience. The firmware also looks after the safety aspects and improves the phone’s current health.

The company is distributing the EMUI 14.2 software to beta and non-beta device owners. While the former class will get a small package with a new security patch and stability improvements, the latter obtains a huge changelog.

EMUI 14.2 update for Huawei Mate 50 Pro is arriving with the 14.2.0.139 version. Users with EMUI 14 beta as the baseline build will receive a small 582MB package, while those upgrading from the 13th version need to download a 6.43GB package.

Mate 50 Pro phone holders will collect a brand-new smart ecosystem and a more efficient interaction with EMUI 14.2. The firmware also enables you to customize your phone’s home/lock screen in your own way, giving it an entirely new look.

If you are carrying the EMUI 13 version in your Mate 50 Pro, then get ready to explore a variety of new add-ons like Magazine themes, Live View, SuperHub 2.0, and Ark Engine for a smoother and more seamless user experience.

Magazine Themes:

• The Art Star theme allows you to choose a portrait photo you like and a matching wallpaper.
• The poster theme now has a magazine-style layout and combines different colors and patterns.
• The headline theme offers six font styles that you can use to customize the clock on your lock screen.
• Each of these themes allows you to extract color from the wallpaper and apply it to the app icons.

Interactive Themes:

• The Emoji theme animates your screen background with interactive effects.
• There is an immersive weather wallpaper that changes depending on the weather conditions and the angle at which you rotate the phone.

Productivity & Efficiency:

• Live View: Shows timely alerts and the status of important events on the lock screen, home screen, and more to keep you updated. It also exhibits real-time activities on a pinned window at the top. Just tap it and use certain controls.
• SuperHub: Supports dragging and dropping files or other media contents between apps and devices. Just press and hold the content and perform the gesture to bring it to SuperHub. The feature will store the data temporarily.
• Ark Engine: Provides a smoother experience with faster loading times, quick app launches, and instant touch response.

Security:

• Integrates the May 2024 security patch to enhance the system security.

Huawei is giving an unexpected software treatment to its top-end flagship devices by releasing the latest firmware to both testers and general consumers.

The phone maker has currently paused the EMUI 14 beta rollout for other devices like the Nova 11 lineup. Yet it would be worth seeing how the OEM will process this software distribution activity for other eligible models in the industry.
