EMUI 13 for Huawei P40 Pro? Let’s talk about it
Since the unveiling of the EMUI 13 upgrade plan, Huawei P40 Pro users are asking us about the chances of upgrading to the latest version. We’re also quite interested in this matter, so, let’s talk about it.
Huawei P40 Pro was launched in March 2020, the company’s last P-series 5G phone lineup. It comes with EMUI 10.1 out of the box, which is better than EMUI 10.0.
The phone later received EMUI 11, and EMUI 11.1, and it currently runs EMUI 12.0. After three years of launch, Huawei P40 Pro works like a charm. In my personal experience, I’ve not encountered any issues with this device. From software to hardware, my Huawei P40 Pro is still kicking heavy tasks.
That’s my personal user experience and you may have your own opinion about Huawei P40 Pro. If so, then do share them via Twitter or Facebook.
Hardware:
Huawei P40 Pro uses Kirin 990 chipset, which is made with a 7nm process. In terms of performance, the phone is capable of loading high-quality apps within a few moments. In terms of software prowess, the P40 Pro is compatible with running EMUI 13.
China
For those who don’t know, Huawei P40 Pro in China has already received HarmonyOS 3.0 operating system. You can identify it as similar to EMUI 13. And this month, Huawei will send HarmonyOS 3.1 features for the Huawei P40 series, which is equal to EMUI 13.1.
Why not for global?
Well, the current EMUI 13 roadmap only mentioned 11 devices in total. While there are more of the recent phones that have not made up to the list. The reasons are unknown but it may be due to the phase testing.
According to the information, major rollout comes in batches and this might be the case here. Still, Huawei P40 Pro was the first flagship phone from the P-series to come with an HMS-only apps system. Therefore, loading the new EMUI 13 on Huawei P40 Pro should be a difficult task for the Chinese tech maker. But it’s up to Huawei to decide, we’ll keep you posted with all of the latest development.
