Huawei EMUI 12

Huawei is busy with HarmonyOS rollout in China but there is a mystery that just landed for the global users as EMUI 12. The EMUI version was initially discovered in our report. In the aftermath, Huawei Nova 8 launched in Russia with the EMUI 12 software system.

However, Huawei has not officially announced such software for the consumers, not formally. Therefore the features and the details remained hidden at the moment.

But don’t worry, we’ve got some useful information on this matter that will keep you excited.

We’ve reached Huawei Mobile Russia on this subject and the company confirmed that there’s actually a software version name “EMUI 12”. The company further said that this new software will replace EMUI 11 and provide a better user experience.

Moreover, the company also added that EMUI 12 comes with the new Control Panel and Huawei distribution technology to facilitate smart collaboration across different devices.

For example, it does include Huawei OneHope, which allows users to use versatile connectivity. Conduct Real-time interactions, supported by cross-system, multi-screen collaboration.

You can also share the screen, keyboard, and mouse, to enjoy effortless convenience. Share files, images, and data to send your work efficiently through the roof.

Aside from these, the software doesn’t seem to come with the Super Device feature due to the reason mentioned below the video.

Not based on HarmonyOS:

Despite this information, Huawei has not confirmed whether the latest system is based on Android or HarmonyOS. Yet, we’ve got some information from a user.

A blogger has confirmed that EMUI 12 is still based on Android but comes with a HarmonyOS user interface. However, it doesn’t include the HarmonyOS features, which makes sense. On the other hand, the user did share some of the screenshots of a recently launched device – Maimang 10 SE 5G.

Huawei Maimang 10 SE EMUI 12

This is the first smartphone from the Maimang series, a China Telecom smartphone, without Huawei branding. This software comes with HarmonyOS 2 user interface but is not exactly based on HarmonyOS. Instead, it has the Android operating system.

EMUI 12:

EMUI 12 is really here and Huawei, similar to the HarmonyOS, has not confirmed any strategy of the rollout for the global Huawei devices. So, in the current state, all we can do is wait…

Still, we definitely want to see some of the refreshing software news for the global Huawei smartphone users as we’re approaching the Huawei Developer Conference 2021.
