A tipster from Weibo revealed that the upcoming EMUI 11 will have a lot of new changes in the Always-on Display (AOD) design, Multi-window multitasking, and new translation services for the internal system.

EMUI 11 will launch at Huawei Developer Conference 2020 (HDC) on September 10, 2020. This new Huawei smartphone software skin will adopt its features from Android 11 and there will also be some new additions.

Earlier this year, Huawei introduced colorful and 3D AOD themes for its top smartphones with OLED displays including Huawei Mate 30, Mate 20 series, and P30 series. Huawei rolled out these features with EMUI 10.1 software update. In this update, Huawei also wrapped the Multi-window mode.

Always-on display:

Introduced with EMUI 10.1, the new AOD system allows the Always On Display clock to change colors dynamically based on the time of day.  This update also added a three-dimensional clock style option to AOD menu.

Multi-Window:

This is another feature that brought in EMUI 10.1, allowing you to multitask with ease in Split-screen mode, and send messages using a floating window while watching videos or playing games.

New Distributed Technology Features:

According to our report, Huawei will add more distributed technology features to EMUI 11 to bring better cross devices and fast user experience.

The tipster also suggests that the user experience has been polished compared to the EMUI 10.x system and EMUI 11 will be easily adopted by older devices.

Following its launch at HDC 2020, Huawei will open EMUI 11 beta testing for Huawei P40 series and Huawei Mate 40 series will be the first smartphone to come pre-installed with the EMUI 11, as its launch could happen in October.
