Czech to follow Germany on Huawei’s 5G participation
Last week, Germany has finalized its rules to build 5G infrastructure in the country that will not prohibit Huawei from participating and its neighbor Czech is likely to take a similar approach for the company.
Czech Industry Minister Karel Havlicek told newspaper Pravo on Thursday that the state was following how the issue was playing out in Europe, reported Reuters.
“The technology which is the foundation of building 5G networks has a global character and I cannot imagine that we would have different parameters set for the approach to Huawei or any other company in the Czech Republic than in Germany or Poland,” Havlicek said.
Czech Telecommunication Office is due to hold an auction of 5G early next year and said issue relates to Huawei is not a threat to that plan.
