BYD launched Leopard 8 smart car with Huawei ADS 3.0 solution

On November 12, BYD launched its most appealing Leopard 8 car with the Huawei ADS 3.0 and HiCar. This is the first BYD car running on Huawei’s advanced smart car solutions. The vehicle also bears interesting features and tech functionalities.

Starting with the design, the Leopard 8 has a dimension of 5195 x 1994 x 1905mm and a wheelbase of 2920mm. It adopts a semi-closed design on the front face with grille-like lines and a black trim roof panel. The car has a grid-like grille at the bottom.

Leopard 8 doors have hidden handles and electric side steps. The brand logo on the back can illuminate. The rear side also carries a spare tire and a tire cover as well as can tow 2.5 tons of weight without ruining the driving experience for users.

BYD has offered two Leopard 8 variants in terms of cockpit: a six-seater and a seven-seater model. Both use a 17.3-inch Control Screen, a 12.3-inch co-pilot multimedia screen, and a 12.3-inch LCD panel with a middle-row dual control screen.

Solutions

Huawei-backed BYD Leopard 8 launched with ADS 3.0 advanced smart car solutions. The solution relies on the GOD (General Obstacle Detection) network and can easily prevent accidents while parking or driving on the highways at speed.

ADS 3.0 uses CAS 3.0(all-directional anti-collision) technology that avoids collision with crossing pedestrians. It automatically changes the direction when detects any passer-by or object on the road or parking slot, leading to safer driving.

It also comes with auto-parking features and parks the car at an accurate place even when the driver is not inside the vehicle. Users get an efficient driving experience with the ADS 3.0 smart car solution.

Leopard 8 is the BYD’s first car to share smartphone traffic and car-related features. The car has two screens at the back to maintain multimedia and AC systems.

Consumers can adjust all the cars while the front seats have special benefits like seat ventilation, heating, and a massage feature. Other features of the car are a panoramic sunroof, 18-speaker Devialet audio, 128-color ambient light, active fragrance system, AC purification, rear privacy glass, 60W USB-C fast charging, and more.

• Smart and Brave Deluxe Edition (7 seats): 379800 yuan
• Smart and Courageous Deluxe Edition (6 seats): 387000 yuan
• Flagship model with 7 seats: 399800 yuan
