BYD and Huawei to develop world’s first off-road vehicle driving solution
Huawei and BYD teamed up to build the world’s first off-road vehicle smart driving solution. The collaboration was in reports for a long time. However, the automobile maker has now officially confirmed its cooperation with the Chinese tech giant.
BYD announced that its brand Fang Cheng Bao penned down a strategic cooperation with Huawei. Under this deal, the latter will provide smart driving solutions to the car maker and help in developing the most innovative off-road vehicles.
Following this deal, the upcoming Leopard 8 will be the first model in the Fang Cheng Bao brand to equip Huawei smart car solution. The company will provide the respective off-road vehicle with the Qiankun ADS 3.0 advanced solution.
The automaker also mentions that BYD and Huawei will build the world’s first off-road vehicle-focused smart driving solution. It’s unclear what new changes this solution will bring. Although it would surely make the driving experience on rough and unpaved surfaces smoother, more convenient, and more efficient.
BYD further says that the upcoming exclusive driving solution will unlock a new era of global intelligent off-road vehicle experience. We may get more details in the future.
Leopard 8 is the next creation of the BYD Fang Cheng Bao brand. It will sport the ADS 3.0 solution. Huawei launched this smart tech in April under the Qiankun car solution series. It is the upgraded version of ADS 2.0 and features mapless driving, prevents collision, and offers all-scenario parking to users.
The tech giant has also optimized the road and image recognition with additional training data and real-life tests. It enables autonomous parking where the car will park itself, even without the driver. Apart from ADS, one may see the new off-road vehicle solution with the Leopard 8 during its launch.
