Breaking: HarmonyOS rollout completed for all eligible Huawei devices
Today, Huawei has officially announced that HarmonyOS 2 operating system has completed rollout for all of the eligible devices in China. These devices come from different categories including smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs, which is a big milestone achieved by the Chinese tech maker.
According to the information, Huawei has completed HarmonyOS rollout for over 100 models from various products including Huawei Mate 40, Mate 30, Mate 20, Mate 10, P40, P30, and P20 series. These aren’t just new phones but also some of the veteran flagships including Mate 9 and P10 have also been included in the HarmonyOS 2.0 upgrade roadmap.
To move beyond the line, the company has also released HarmonyOS on Honor branded products. These are the models that have been launched ahead of the mega split between the two former partners in November last year.
However, one thing to note is that Huawei has selected some of the additional models that are still experiencing beta activity and will receive the final rollout very soon.
HarmonyOS 2.0:
Launched on June 2, 2021, HarmonyOS 2.0 is the first operating system designed for smartphones, especially for Huawei devices. However, later it was announced as open source and donated to the open atom foundation.
In terms of features, HarmonyOS 2.0 comes with a brand new user interface, animation effects based on basis of gravity, and better icons that are designed to enhance your overall user experience. On the other hand, you will get new features such as app snippets, control panel, super device, service widgets, and more.
The backward compatibility of the HarmonyOS 2.0 is a big plus point and it fills excitement among consumers. Therefore, old Huawei smartphone consumers want to upgrade over this latest operating system and further boost its reach and contribute to rapid installations.
As revealed by Huawei, HarmonyOS 2.0 has been installed on over 150 million devices as of one month ago, and the company expects that this figure could reach up to 200 million by the end of this year.
Still, HarmonyOS 2.0 remained elusive for Chinese consumers and the company has not revealed its plan to bring it to the global market. Meanwhile, a higher official from the company has reportedly told that HarmonyOS mobile operating system could in 2022 for the global consumers.
