Blogger tested Huawei Mate 60 Pro charger on iPhone 15 with a wrong cable, causing heated discussion

Huawei Mate 60 Pro and iPhone 15 are gaining attention in the smartphone industry and recently a blogger tested the 88W Huawei charger on iPhone 15 with the wrong cable with similar results.

With the launch of the iPhone 15, Apple switched from lighting to a USB C port for the entire iPhone lineup. This means that customers of the new iPhone won’t have to buy a separate charging head to refill the smartphone. But this change, also led tech enthusiasts to try different chargers on the iPhone 15.

The blogger in this case used 66W and 88W Huawei chargers to connect with the iPhone 15 (standard). However, the blogger later shared that these chargers aren’t working at all.

To be mentioned, the tester specifically said that the charger in the test featured a USB-A port. It is also confirmed that the iPhone is charging fine with other chargers from Oppo or Xiaomi. Instantly, the blogger started blaming the company for cutting support for iPhones with new chargers.

But later on, this test caused a massive backfire for the blogger due to the use of a wrong USB cable. The comment section of the post clearly states different reasons for this Huawei charger not working on iPhone 15.

Wrong Cable:

The 88W charger of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro comes with two output ports – USB-A to C and USB-C to C. These two are designed specifically for their product types.

But the USB cable is a main issue because Huawei’s USB-A cable doesn’t have PD control but the charging brick does. Therefore, it’s certain that the Huawei charging cable would not support iPhone 15. However, if you transit from USB-A to USB-C port, then everything will work fine.

Still, no matter if you use a Huawei Mate 60 Pro 88W charger or even faster, the iPhone 15 won’t support the charger’s maximum output speed.
