April 2021 security patch expanding for Huawei Nova 7 5G smartphone in global market

Huawei has organized a big event, HarmonyOS Operating System, and Full Scenario New Product Launch Conference on June 2 for consumers. During the event, the company has released HarmonyOS 2.0 for smartphones and an upgrade plan for over 100 Huawei devices.

At the moment, the Chinese tech giant’s schedule is very hectic and also involved in many activities. But, it doesn’t reflect the partial behavior or delaying the rollout of regular software updates for the devices.

Just recently, Huawei has delivered a software update for Nova 7 series on the home ground that installs the security patch released in April 2021 powered by the Android security bulletin.

Now, Huawei is expanding this security improvement for Nova 7 5G smartphone in the global market that fixes different levels of exploits and hidden issues for improved system security.

On the other hand, the Huawei Nova 7 series is currently under the HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta testing and receiving test software builds via OTA upgrades in the Chinese market.

According to the HarmonyOS 2.0 upgrade plan, Huawei Nova 7 series smartphone along with 20 other Huawei devices will get hands-on HarmonyOS 2.0 in the third quarter of 2021. However, global users have to wait a little more to experience the latest OS.

Huawei Nova 7 5G device getting new EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.155 (C185E5R1P3) upgraded from 11.0.0.152 with an update size of 235 MB in the Middle East.

April 2021 security patch details: This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues including 17 high and 69 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

HOW TO INSTALL:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
