April EMUI Security update rolls out for Huawei Y9 2019, uncertainty remains on EMUI 10

Huawei has started sending a new update for the users of Huawei Y9 2019 that improves system security with Android security patches. While the uncertainty remains on its EMUI 10 status.

Security:

This update integrates the Android security patches released in April 2020 for improved system security.

April 2020 security update includes patches from Google and brings fixes to 5 critical, 12 high, and 1 medium level of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).

HUAWEI Y9 2019 EMUI VERSIONS:

Huawei Y9 2019 receiving the April 2020 security update with EMUI version 9.1.0.275 and a software package size of 87.47MB.

Note: EMUI version and size may vary depending on country/region update is rolling out in batches, so it may take some time to reach your device.

Huawei Y9 2019 EMUI 10 Status:

Huawei has rolled out EMUI 10 for the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 and Y9s. Even so, Huawei has promised a similar upgrade for Y9 2019 but there’s no footprint of the rollout that can be seen at the moment.

Via Settings:

Open Settings
Click on ‘System’
Click on ‘Software update’
Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
Click on ‘Download and install’

Via Support:

Open Support (HiCare) app
Click on ‘Services’ tab
Click on ‘Update’
Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
Click on ‘Download and install’
