Android 15 QPR2 Beta enhances Do Not Disturb feature with ‘Modes’
Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1 is enhancing the ordinary “Do Not Disturb” tool with an advanced “Modes” feature. The new addition is a combination of different scenarios where you would prefer to keep yourself away from your buzzing social life.
Do Not Disturb (DND) is a useful function in devices that silence calls, texts, and other notifications for some time. It enables you to focus on your work by blocking out distractions and preventing your phone’s screen from lighting up due to alerts.
While the feature is already quite helpful, Google is making it even more significant in the latest beta update. Android 15 QPR2 Beta brings a new Modes feature, advancing the Do Not Disturb tool. The latest add-on lets you create several versions of “Do Not Disturb” mode with different rules to suit your needs.
Users can create a customized “Do Not Disturb” mode along with a cute icon. There are around 40 different icons related to work, golf, meditation, painting, and more.
They can also choose their preferred schedule timings, notifications access, and more. One can either manually turn on this model from the Settings app or the new Modes tile in the Quick Settings menu. When activated, the respective mode will show up on the status bar, lock screen, and AOD.
Android 15 Modes feature is still in the beta phase. Hence, all Pixel device owners and other eligible phone holders can expect the new tool by March 2025 with the stable Android 15 release.
