Android 15 Beta 4 brings a useful ‘device diagnostics’ feature
Google has kicked off Android 15 Beta 4 which carries several bug fixes as well as a significant “device diagnostics” feature. With this tool, users can check on their phone’s health, battery status, touchscreen potential, and various other device details.
The respective feature has already shown up with the Android 15’s third testing version. Although Google has now made it live for everyone with the latest firmware.
Pixel device users receiving the new Android 15 Beta 4 update will find the Device Diagnostics tool in the Settings app (second last option). The capability includes two options that help in providing the current health data of your smartphone or tablet:
- Component Health: The feature conducts manual tests related to the device’s battery and storage health.
- Evaluation Mode: Use one device to assess another device
The first option enables users to test the display settings. It shows a row of colored screens to easily detect faults like poor pixels or degraded picture quality in the display panel. One can also opt for the touchscreen, battery, as well as storage tests conveniently for their handsets.
The second option is Evaluation mode which will allow users to use a second device for conducting these tests. The feature opens a QR code to connect the second device with the first one and perform all the above-mentioned assessments.
Users can even use this feature to test another device. It easily shows results after conducting all the tests and shows accurate points and hidden problems, if any.
It is worth mentioning that Pixel users already have the “diagnostics” option on their devices. They can simply dial *#*#7287#*#* in the Phone application to check the device issues. Although the new addition seems much more effective and convenient.
