Android 15 Beta 3.1 update is out to fix an annoying lock screen bug that has been troubling Pixel users for a long while. The company has also mended some other issues of the device and added a few new improvements with the latest firmware.

Google Pixel phone owners, especially Pixel 6 Pro and 7 were dealing with a nasty lock screen bug. When trying to remove notifications from the lock screen, it takes the users to the number pad. Hereafter, it asks them to enter their PIN to unlock the phone.

The problem persisted even when users tried to perform tasks that didn’t require unlocking the phone. Although the good news is that the company has marked an end to this terrible issue with the latest Android 15 Beta 3.1 update.

Google has also resolved the face authentication problem. The list further includes improvements to the system stability of the device and certain connectivity aspects.

Android 15’s latest beta is rolling out with the AP31.240517.031 build version. It carries a software package of 63.87. However, the update size may differ depending on the model. Hence, ensure to have enough storage space in your Pixel handset.

  • Fixed issues that caused the lock screen to intercept touch input and prompt the user to unlock the device, even when interacting with elements on the lock screen that don’t require the device to be unlocked.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused biometric face authentication to fail.
  • Fixed various other issues that were impacting system stability, connectivity, and audio quality.

Apart from these fixes, users will also get a June 2024 security patch. Those who are running their device on a beta build will automatically receive this firmware via OTA.
