Google has released the Android 15 beta 2.2 for Pixel devices as a bug fixer update. The firmware includes a small list of improvements for specific sections of the device. It also optimizes the stability aspects, making the phones or tablets more reliable.

Android 15 beta 2.2 update is tagged with the AP31.240426.023.B4 build version. The software package may vary depending on the model. For instance, the Pixel Tablet received the firmware with a size of 2.56GB, while it is 55.78MB for the Pixel 8 Pro.

The US tech giant has pushed off the latest beta build for flagship devices starting from the Pixel 6 series to Pixel 8 Pro and includes Pixel Tablet and Fold models.

What’s New?

Google has improved the Private Space feature to a greater extent and fixed the bug that used to remove app icons from the screen. It mends the Wallet app’s functioning and resolves the NFC issues related to payment processing in some scenarios.

  • Fixed remaining issues where creating a private space on a device for the first time removed app icons from the home screen(s).
  • Fixed an issue with the Wallet role that prevented NFC payments from functioning in some cases.
  • Fixed an issue where the app drawer didn’t open when swiping up.
  • Fixed an issue with NFC observe mode that prevented NFC payments from processing in some cases.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused videos that were recorded using 10-bit HDR to have a green tint.
  • Fixed various other issues that were impacting system stability, interactivity, and connectivity.

Apart from these fixes, you will also find the May 2024 security patch that will look after the internal system security and other vulnerabilities in the device. This firmware is only available to users registered in the Android Beta for Pixel program.
