Google is now releasing the Android 15 Beta 2.1 update for its Pixel devices with improvements for the Private Space feature. The company tried to mend a nasty bug that has been troubling users for a while. Let’s explore the new firmware in detail.

Private Space is one of the significant features in Android 15 that enables you to hide private or confidential apps on the device. They have a separate section in the phone and don’t appear in the usual app drawer. Alerts from these apps also remain hidden.

While the feature is quite useful, some Pixel owners reported that after creating a Private Space on their phone a few icons from the home screen suddenly disappeared. Although the new beta build says to have a fix for this weird problem.

Android 15 Beta 2.1 update is rolling out with the AP31.240426.023 build version. It is available for Pixel 8 series, Pixel 7 series, Pixel 6 series, Fold, and Tablet.

The update only weighs around 11 to 12 Megabytes, signifying that it’s just a hotfix version to eliminate glitches found in the last software build. It is worth noting that many users outlined the issue persistence even after installing the new update.

Some Reddit account holders cited that despite the Beta 2.1 firmware, all of the icons (bar the Google apps) still disappeared from the home screen on his Pixel 8 Pro.

Hence it may happen that the fix doesn’t work for you. If so, then don’t panic as the company will release more builds to rectify the situation and wipe out the bug.
