After a volcanic welcome of Kirin 9000s, Huawei is now working on a new 5nm chip and some of the key specs of this alleged processor have already leaked online. The surfaced chipset might enter the real world as the most-awaited Kirin 9010.

Baidu Qualcomm Tieba has recently shared some specs and capabilities of a new Huawei Kirin 5nm chip. While the input doesn’t clarify the real term of the processor, it seems to be the successor of the Kirin 9000s with 5nm process technology.

Speaking of the specifications, the new chipset shows an octa-core CPU structure with 2 Taishan V130 performance cores clocked at 3.00GHz frequency and 6 Taishan V130 Lite efficiency cores with 1.8GHz max frequency. Check the details below:

  • Taishan V130 Performance Cores: 6/7 wide decode ALU, 128KB L1 instruction cache, 64KB L1 data cache, 1MB L2 cache
  • Taishan V130 Lite Efficiency Cores: 3/4 wide decode ALU, 64KB L1 instruction cache, 32 KB L1 data cache, 256KB L2 cache

The respective CPU is paired with a supplementary 8MB L3 cache and a Maleoon 920 GPU (6CUs, 750MHz clock speed). It also has the next-generation dual-core Ascend NPU (1 big core + 1 small core) alongside a Kirin ISP 8.0 component.

Regarding Modem, the new Kirin processor features Baloong 6000 and bears the LPDDR5 6400 memory. Meanwhile, it relies upon the SMIC 5nm process and can exhibit 5.2 watts for single-core load and 12.4 watts under multi-core load.

Geekbench Scores:

Besides, the alleged Kirin 9010 chipset has also appeared on Geekbench 6.0, scoring 1800 points for the single-core test and 4800 points for the multi-core test. The chip performance is comparable to the Apple A12X Bionic, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ processor.

On the other hand, the Maleoon GPU scored 2800 points in 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme, 54 FPS in GFXBench Aztec Ruins High Tier Offscreen, and 188 FPS in GFXBench Manhattan OpenGL ES 3.1.

Some other reports hint that the new Huawei Kirin 5nm chip surfaced online might step on the consumer platform with the P70 series in the coming days. Although the company has not marked any such words so far, and we have to wait for the official details.
