Bugs and Issues
A Huawei Mate 20 Pro user on EMUI 11 reported this nasty black screen flicker issue
Huawei Mate 20 series comes with lots of new features and it’s powered by the flagship Kirin processor that provides immense multi-tasking and can also handle heavy tasks executions. The phone also loads a new Matrix camera system for the high-quality camera system.
In the past, Huawei Mate 20 device owners enjoyed continuous software support but now in the latest ride of this story, Huawei Mate 20 models have also received the latest EMUI 11 across China and countries across the globe.
The EMUI 11 brings a number of new features that enhance system performance and enables a better user interface for an improved user experience.
As we discussed before, not every user is satisfied with EMUI 11 upgrade because of the bugs and issues that it may bring to a few models. For example, a Huawei Mate 20 Pro user recently contacted us and informed us about a nasty bug that appeared on his smartphone following the upgrade on EMUI 11.
According to the user, after upgrading to EMUI 11.0.0.138 version, the phone started to show black screen flickering once the user starts to interact with the user interface and refreshes the whole background process. Because of this, most of the apps became inaccessible due to the continuous screen UI refresh.
The user also revealed that he can only access 6 out of 223 apps on his phone because of this issue. However, we believe that issue likely to appear only in a few models compared to a large number of device owners.
To solve this issue, we recommended the user to back up the data and roll it back to the EMUI 10.1 via using the HiSuite app on PC or Mac. Then try to upgrade again to EMUI 11 via the HiSuite with a proper installation.
