Huawei EMUI 13.1 brings new camera features including the Zoom Ring and Quick Menu. These functionalities are the biggest changes that Huawei has brought in for smartphones after the launch of EMUI 10.0.

The past updates to the Huawei camera app were good but the two new ones will help users to understand more about the camera in an interesting way. Also, there is some sort of simplicity that these two capabilities bring to smartphone owners, which is missing in EMUI 12, EMUI 13, and HarmonyOS 3.

Since the Huawei P60 series is the latest camera flagship, the tech maker has decided to put new software in action. In China, the Huawei P60 series is loaded with HarmonyOS 3.1 and for the global market, it will debut with its Android version, EMUI 13.1.

Zoom Ring

Up until EMUI 13, Huawei phones used a slider to increase or decrease the zoom levels. On the other hand, you can access Zoom with the on-screen zoom button of UW, 1x, 3x, 5x, or 10x (depending on the model). This option is in the spotlight for a long time.

But Zoom Ring changes the entire interaction for your smartphone and replaces the slider with this new UI representation. So, how it works?

Tap and hold the zoom bar, then swipe your finger either left or right to control the range. In response, the camera shows a numbered ring with animation effects. This is a new way to interact with Zoom operations inside the stock app.

Quick Menu

The quick menu is a new change that you will appreciate no matter how you use the Huawei smartphone. The camera app now lets you access the top menu features beneath the shutter button. All you need to do is to tap on the up icon and expand the quick menu. Then swipe left or right to select a camera option.

This is a whole new way to interact with top features on the go.

EMUI 13.1 camera:

You should know that EMUI 13.1 comes with the Huawei P60 series but it may also come for old devices. Still, there’s no confirmation of when it will arrive as an OTA update. However, we’ll keep you posted with new developments on this matter.
