Honor Magic 5

Honor is rolling out a brand new Eye Tracking feature for Honor Magic 5 supreme edition. This new Honor eye tracking feature has new capabilities that you may want to get on your Huawei flagship device.

This new software update comes with a big update package size loaded with lots of new additions as well as optimizations.

According to RPRNA, Honor is sending this new software update for Honor Magic 5 ultimate edition with MagicOS version 7.1.0.124 and its package size is 1.19GB for the OTA.

Looking at the changelog, the software update optimizes the camera performance, optimizes display, and system stability. Under the core changes, there’s a new feature related to the phone’s front-facing capability.

What’s this?

This is kind of futuristic and it’s similar to Huawei’s own mechanism. In simple words, this new addition allows you to control all of the system notifications with your eye movements.

Now, this is a brand new level that Honor has achieved with the front-facing motion sensor.

The detail reveals that you can expand a notification by staring or expanding or even entering an app. All of these without touching your phone’s display.

Honor says, the new Eye Tracking feature provides smart and convenient services. As for use, the phone only needs to access the camera permission to focus on your eyesight and obtain the eye details.

To enable eye tracking, Honor Magic 5 users will have to record their eye biometrics and it’ll be ready to go.

Coming to Huawei?

It’s an Honor thing but the feature is deeply built around the front camera system. So, if Huawei develops such eye-tracking functionality, then it would only be used in Mate 50 or Mate 40 series devices. For now, there’s no confirmation available on this matter.

On the flip side, this is a good addition to the Honor Magic 5 and it would be welcomed in Huawei smartphones.
