Huawei Smart Car Business CEO clears mist on COO suspension

There is news in the air that Huawei has suspended its Chief Operating Officer (COO) Wang Jun and the head of the smart car business unit has provided us with more information on the suspension. The latest reports about the change in leadership surfaced after Huawei rotating chairman visited the car maker, Changan Automobile.

Yu Chengdong, the Executive director of Huawei, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, and CEO of Huawei Smart Car Business said that it is normal to have personnel adjustments inside the company and there’s no big change in the company’s business strategy for the smart car department on the question of the suspension of COO.

On the matter of Wang Jun, Yu mentioned that it’s just a rumor or hype regarding the way they are being represented online.

Past information reveals that Huawei’s smart car business led by Yu Chengdong shined quite positively in 2022. Currently, AITO Wenjie M5, M7, and other models are in the market. Since their delivery in March 2022, by the year’s end, AITO sold more than 75,000 units.
