Recently, Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO, and Smart Car Business Unit Head, Yu Chengdong sat in an interview with Chinese media and revealed how difficult it was to produce Huawei Mate 50 series.

Yu revealed how difficult it was to make Huawei Mate 50 with limited resources. These include major faults in the supply chain as well as limited chip supplies.

These issues created hurdles in Huawei Mate 50 manufacturing. However, the Huawei team did a good job and made big efforts in order to bring the flaghip into production.

Yu also said that someone from inside the firm told him that it was impossible to succeed. The cost was higher than others, and there are so many restrictions on the company to gather the required technologies. Yet, Yu was determined to make the product succeed.

After the launch of the Mate 40 series 5G, Huawei is bounded to launch only 4G phones. It’s due to the past U.S. restrictions and the lack of 5G R.F. chipset components.

Since last year, Huawei is launching 4G smartphones, while the competitors have 5G. Huawei P50 and Mate 50 series are packed with 4G chips.

Yu mentioned that Huawei doesn’t have 5G but the company has improved 4G performance. On the other hand, WiFi 6 fills the gap of the 5G network requirement.
