Huawei won first place in smart metro equipment 2022

Recently, China Unicom published a list of 4 massive competitors in the field of metro tech and solutions. Among the major tech makers, Huawei is the one to achieve the first rank in smart metro equipment 2022 with a quotation of 3.297 billion yuan.

Generally, China Unicom has engaged itself in Smart Metro Equipment Centralized Procurement. As per the procurement firm, the plan is to purchase 84,929 sets of intelligent and efficient metropolitan area networks and to expand the existing work.

On the other hand, this procurement of smart metro automation serves as the major target of the 5G bearer networks in 2022. Thus, China Unicom brought this smart metro 2022 equipment among four significant 5G operators: Huawei, ZTE, Fiberhome, and H3C.

The latest information also reveals that the quotations for ZTE, Fiberhome, and H3C were 3.176 billion yuan, 3.067 billion yuan, and 2.721 billion yuan, respectively.

This is not the first time that the smart metro is in the news headlines. Back in 2020, China Unicom initiated the last round of this procurement. In comparison to the past, Huawei has a bid share of more than 52%. Meanwhile, ZTE has a share of more than 25%. The leftover is in the area of Fiberhome and Xinhua.

Advantages of China Unicom smart metropolitan area network

The smart metropolitan area network mainly refers to the cloud DC communication area with SR+EVPN technology. The details describe that traditional metro network structures have faced numerous challenges for 5G services.

For instance, complex services, super high costs, difficulty in the execution of cloud networks, and more. As a result, China Unicom introduced a new smart metro equipment project with virtual techniques for the 5G demand in the world.

Besides, the cost of unit bandwidth was reduced to 75%. Hence, China Unicom believes that taking the help of Huawei Technologies will give a new boost to the overall activity.
