IDC report Q2-2022: Huawei ranked 5th in global tablet shipments
The fresh report by the IDC during the second quarter of 2022 showcases, that Apple topped in the worldwide shipments of tablets, and Huawei is listed among the top five tablet shipments firms on Q2-2022.
According to the research from IT market analyst IDC, tablet sales have seen significant growth in Q2-2022 in the global market. The report shows that with 40.5 million units sold, the segment’s overall performance was higher by 0.15% year on year.
However, even after Apple faced a fall of 2% year on year in iPad revenue due to supply chain issues, it still topped in Q2-2022 with the shipment of 12.6 million units and 31% of the market share of tablet shipment. Although, Apple iPad users still demand high.
Samsung came in second with 7.3 million units sold and a market share of 18.1%, which is down 10.63 percent from the previous year. With 5.5 million products shipped and a 13.6% market share, Amazon finishes in third. Lenovo and Huawei came in fourth and fifth with 3.5 million and 2.1 million tablet unit shipments in Q2-2022, respectively.
Shipments in the second quarter were greater than anticipated, as a result of the “618” promotion in China and Amazon Prime Day in the US. Along with the top five companies previously mentioned, the tablet market also grew thanks to the success of new brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, Realme, and others.
Well, the consumers are highly indulged and show their interest to purchase the tablet in replacement of PCs. On the flip side, a lot of suppliers have done a great job developing their distribution plans and have been successful in providing enough tablets for the academy sector.
Notably, the IDC report on China smartphone shipment shows that in Q2-2022, smartphone shipments declined by 14.7% year on year. But here’s to Huawei leading the global market on Q2-2022. Read more.
