Huawei Mate Xs 2 foldable phone launched globally

On May 18, 2022, Huawei launched Huawei Mate Xs 2, new flagship foldable phone for global consumers. The phone continues the outward foldable design of the first-generation Mate Xs device and has an improved falcon hinge mechanism as well as a grip system.

Talking first about its display, the Huawei Mate Xs 2 launched with a 7.8-inch display unfolded with 2480 x 2200 resolution and 6.5 inches (2480 x 1176p resolution) once folded. The display has an OLED panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and up to 240 Hz touch sampling rate as well as 424ppi screen pixel density.

Huawei Mate Xs is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G processor with Octa-core architecture including 1 x Cortex-X1 at 2.84GHz + 3 at Cortex-A78 at 2.42GHz + 4 x Cortex-A55 at 1.8GHz. In addition, the chipset is coupled with Adreno 660 GPU for the maximized gaming experience. There’s also Qualcomm’s sixth-generation AI engine that will bring you better smart task execution.

This foldable phone takes care of your camera photography consisting of a 50-megapixel primary color camera (wide-angle, f/1.8 aperture), a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.2 aperture), and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera (f/2.4 aperture, OIS). The rear camera supports 3x optical zoom (3x zoom is approximate, lens focal lengths are 13 mm, 23 mm, 85 mm), and 30x digital zoom.

The rear camera can also shoot in different camera modes including Mirror smart shooting, AI micro-motion instant, telephoto picture-in-picture, micro-movie, audio zoom, high pixel mode, time-lapse photography, super wide-angle, large-aperture blur, dual scene video, super night scene, macro, portrait mode, Professional Mode, Slow Motion, Panorama Mode, Black & White Art, Smart Filter, Watermark, Document Correction, AI Photo Master, Dynamic Photo, 4D Predictive Focus, Smile Capture, Voice-activated Photo, Timed Photo, Continuous Shot, and Snapshot.

Coming to the front side, the Mate Xs has a front punch camera system that counts as a 10.7 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture. The front camera also has several modes to take selfies camera Selfie slow motion, smart wide-angle switching, portrait mode, panorama mode, fun AR, time-lapse photography, dynamic photos, smart filters, watermarks, smiley snapshots, selfie mirroring, voice-activated photos, timed photos.

Huawei Mate Xs 2 takes care of a longer standby time with a 4600mAh battery (according to the variant). That could recharge with a super-fast 66W charger.

Huawei Mate Xs 2 foldable phone priced at 1999 euros (2103 USD) with 8GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The Huawei Mate Xs 2 will be available from June onwards in the global markets.
