Here’s what Huawei said about HarmonyOS global smartphones upgrade plan
Despite Huawei introducing EMUI 12 for the global devices, HarmonyOS is a major cause of attraction that Huawei smartphones users want to test. Therefore, they want to know whether this Huawei operating system will be able to make it out of the Chinese market ever and what will be HarmonyOS upgrade plan is for smartphones? We’ve covered several stories on this matter but the recent one has got an official answer that we’ll share with you.
We’ve recently published a report from Chinese media, that suggests the Huawei Mate 50 series will launch this year (2022) featuring HarmonyOS operating system. The most interesting part of this story says that the phone will not only be introduced in the Chinese market but also for the global models.
The story has generated an immense amount of heat among readers but Huawei says it “currently” doesn’t have a plan to upgrade global smartphones with the HarmonyOS operating system. However, the Chinese tech giant said consumers can experience HarmonyOS in recently launched Huawei tablets, smart TVs, and smartwatches.
“Currently, there is no plan for smartphones outside China to upgrade to HarmonyOS, but consumers can enjoy HarmonyOS 2 and its ground-breaking user experience on the recently launched Huawei tablets, HUAWEI Vision, and smartwatches,” Huawei told HC
Although it’s a disappointing input for the consumers but we’ll remain optimistic that Huawei will come up with good news sooner or later.
HarmonyOS:
Initially launched in 2019, HarmonyOS is a next-generation operating system developed by Huawei that enables interconnection and collaboration between smart devices. With its second version, the software platform got new features and support for smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and other important devices.
As of December 23, 2021, Huawei has installed HarmonyOS in 220 million devices that include all of these above-mentioned platforms. In addition, there are 100 million devices that come from third-party hardware makers such as electronics and home appliance makers.
