Actively promote 5G development: Huawei Chairman
Today, the 2021 Global MBB Forum (Global MBB Forum) takes place in Dubai under the theme “5G Grows Together”. At the event, the rotating chairman of Huawei– Hu Houkun present his deliverance on 5G entitled “Based on the Present, Shaping the Future”.
He talks about the achievements and breakthroughs made in the 5G pre-commercialization. He said we have made great progress on the subject of user scale, network coverage, and terminal development. Furthermore, he believes, the industry should actively promote 5G, simultaneously increasing the XR business, 5GtoB market, green and low-carbon development.
Huawei Chairman: 5G Development Exceeds Expectations
In his speech, the Huawei chairman mentions that the development speed of 5G far exceeds expectations. To date, there are 176 5G commercial networks have been deployed for 500 million worldwide users. Moving to the consumer sector, 5G has a 10-fold increase rate for advanced applications including VR and 360-degree live video streaming.
In this line, the company is working on over 10,000 5GtoB projects across the world. In addition, the 5G business innovations are being nourished in the industry. Fields with risk potentials such as manufacturing, mining, ports, and more are on their way to adopt digitalization.
As per the speech of chairman Hu, more than half of 5GtoB projects are incubating from China. Maintaining the same flow, we can see some fields that working with the help of 5G technology. Still, it hasn’t reached each sector.
In his further speech, Huawei Chairman points out that the current scenarios are undergoing many changes. We can easily spot them in from individuals to industries, from technology to commerce, from digital transformation to social development.
Besides, the global pandemic accelerates the digitalization process making cloud and AI a rapid growth trend in the industry. However, the changes leading us to a deep influence on ICT technology. Moreover, he believes that the following three preparation will make us quickly answer these changes.
- Preparation for XR in terms of network
- Strengthening the 5GtoB network
- Preparation for green development
