HarmonyOS Poetic Romance Theme: New icons, wallpaper and AOD [Hands On]
Huawei has released a new HarmonyOS theme “Poetic Romance” for HarmonyOS 2 powered devices. We’ve previously reported about this theme’s arrival and now, it’s finally here with a new style over the existing Aquamarine theme.
Let’s take a look at the HarmonyOS Poetic Romance Theme and all of the changes.
This theme comes with a brand new wallpaper that is bright that enhances the overall viewing experience. The icons have around the shell and the size of the icons have been reduced a bit. There is the same effect on the service widgets too.
AOD transition:
There’s a new always-on display animation showing falling stars at midnight with hues of the starry sky.
Lock Screen:
Once wake up, the device performs wallpaper transition animation that transits from one screen to another. If you unlock the phone, the phone will further expand the wallpaper and bring it to the home screen. Transition performance is subtle and looks good but it’s similar to the other themes.

Currently, the Poetic Romance theme is available for the HarmonyOS smartphones – including Huawei Mate 40, P40, P30, Mate 30, and other devices the theme is expanding with the recent HarmonyOS update. Still, users will have to download it first to use.

HarmonyOS is a micro-kernel-based operating system that is designed to work on cross-devices with its distributed technology framework. This new OS comes has recently crossed 50 million installations in smartphones in China. However, it’s not yet available on global models.
