Huawei ensures to settle down the current situation with ARM

Huawei’s semiconductor architectures are widely based on ARM’s design that the chip designer now wants to stop sharing with the Chinese telecom giant but the company has ensured that it’ll resolve the current problems with ARM.

According to a statement from Huawei to Androidcentral, which says: “We value our close relationships with our partners, but recognize the pressure some of them are under, as a result of politically motivated decisions.”

“We are confident this regrettable situation can be resolved and our priority remains to continue to deliver world-class technology and products to our customers around the world,” it added.

Earlier today, a report revealed that ARM has told its employees to stop all active contracts, support, and any pending engagements with Huawei and its subsidiaries to comply with recent US trade restrictions.

In a company memo, it said its designs contained “US-origin technology”. Because the designs are based on US technology, the company must have to apply US trade restriction on their products and stop its work with Huawei.

This action has taken as one of the biggest difficulties for Huawei, which uses ARM’s design in its Kirin processor and other semiconductor products produced by its subsidiary HiSilicon.
