Huawei Mate 50 may not launch this year, could be the first time since 2013

Yes, guys, you read it right, an exclusive report from Chinese media LatePost reveals that Huawei will not unveil the Huawei Mate 50 series this year. This is the first time when the Chinese tech giant will not going to introduce a new second half flagship since 2013.

Although, Huawei yet to respond on this matter but the new report seems quite real and fits perfectly on the current scenario. let’s check it how.

If we look a the tradition, the second half flagship from the Mate series launches with a new processor and its launch happens somewhere around September every year.

The use of new chipset shows the company’s competitiveness against other smartphone giants such as Samsung and Apple but this time the scenarios are different compared to the past.

Due to the U.S. restrictions, Huawei cannot print new Kirin chipset from manufacturers such as TSMC, which led to issues such as chip shortages.

This is one of the main reasons that prohibiting Huawei from making new smartphones and the company doesn’t seem to want to continue with the 5nm chipset released last year.

Although, Huawei has saved a big stock of chipset and other required components but those are also under consumption. Furthermore, a researcher reveals that the consumption of this stock is decreasing with every product launch, which is a sign of worry.

Huawei P50:

From the beginning of this year, Huawei has only launched Mate X2 foldable phone as a new flagship yet the company has not to debut any other phone in the new hardware category.

Due to the shortage of components, Huawei has also delayed the launch of the Huawei P50 series, which usually unveils in March every year.

However, at HarmonyOS and New Product Launch Conference on June 2, Huawei shared the teaser of the Huawei P50 series and confirmed that it’ll launch later this year but an exact date is yet to be decided.

HarmonyOS and existing users:

Huawei’s smartphone business is still under tide waves, and currently facing severe challenges but the Chinese tech maker is still looking for improvements to make and overcome.

In the past quarter, several smartphone market researchers show that Huawei’s smartphone business has been affected by U.S. restrictions and shortage of components.

Currently, Huawei is focusing on maintaining its existing users, as recently the company has also announced to roll out HarmonyOS for smartphones launched in the last 5 years, which is really a big change.

Through this, Huawei can reach almost every device owner in the Huawei ecosystem and spread the reach of the HarmonyOS as well as refreshing the existing smartphone user experience.

Sad News:

Although, Huawei is yet to reveal the Huawei P50 series but we also wanted to see the Mate 50 happen. But now, this report is not been a good indicator as we can only wait for an official response.
