Samsung leads the global smartphone, Huawei ranks sixth in February 2021 global market shipment: Counterpoint
Recently, Counterpoint, the market analysis, and business research firm published the latest report on global smartphone shipment in February 2021.
The latest report’s statistics disclosed the information of smartphone shipment of the top seven phone-manufacturer and market share with the month-on-month growth recorded by the smartphone vendors.
According to the report, Samsung technology is ruling the market from the starting of this year. The company holds 20% of the total market share and registered a 17% month-on-month increase. However, Huawei is in the sixth position, still trying to regain its market despite US inclusions.
Apple is also chasing behind covering 17% of the market share showing month-on-month growth of 20%. Followed by the Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, Huawei, and Honor.
Xiaomi holds a 13% market share, OPPO holds a 12% market share, and Vivo holds a 10% market showing a month-on-month increase of 1%, 3%, and 2% respectively.
Huawei holds 4% of the market share while its month-on-month increase is 18%, which behind the Apple tech firm. Meanwhile, Huawei’s former subsidiary acquires 2% of the total market share with 8% of month-on-month growth
Kang Kyung-soo, research analyst at Counterpoint believes that Chinese brands Xiaomi and OPPO are getting the benefit of the US Sanction on Huawei. This is the main reason that they successfully surpass Huawei.
Besides this, Huawei recently revealed its annual report which shows a year-on-year increase of 3.2% with total revenue of 891.4 billion yuan.
