Last year, Huawei introduced its plan to launch more 5G phones in the market and increased them in 2020. However, with the U.S. Entity List, the company failed to purchase more required 5G chipset and had to stop making its own Kirin chips.

Now, reports coming from Taiwanese Media, Huawei will be restarted purchasing new camera modules and chipset and these orders are likely to increase in the coming months.

Furthermore, Huawei is looking to restart its 4G smartphone production, which will also increase the company’s purchase of these components from the industry. This move came after Qualcomm received a license from U.S. Government to sell 4G chipsets to Huawei. Qualcomm has also applied for a 5G chipset sell license but awaiting approval.

Last year, Huawei was included in the U.S. entity list, which prohibits it from purchasing new U.S.-made components. This year, Huawei reduced its purchase of smartphone components which has caused related industries to experience a low peak season.

With the new orders, components makers for lens and circuit boards can once again expect to increase in their revenues even if it’s for the 4G smartphones. On the other hand, it doesn’t mean that Huawei will drop the 5G smartphone production.
