Huawei plans to open 8 new flagship and 42 consumer stores in Europe, will expand physical presence in the region
At IFA 2020, Walter Ji, President of Huawei Consumer BG Europe gave his Keynote speech and reiterated Huawei’s commitment to the consumers in Europe and aimed to grow physical presence in the region.
Ji announced that Huawei has planned to open 8 new flagships and 42 consumer stores in Europe by the end of this year. The flagship stores will open in France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, the UK, and Spain. Some of these markets will get more than one flagship store.
Ji said, the establishment of these new stores in the region will create new jobs, while the company currently accounts for around 14,000 employees directly and over 200,000 indirectly across Europe.
During his keynote, Ji said Huawei has now reached 460 million monthly active users around the globe, of which 33 million resides in the EU.
Since 2010, Huawei has invested 850 million euros ($1 billion) in innovation in Europe. last year, the company was fifth largest in Research and Development in Europe.
