VoWiFi feature update for Honor 8X and 10 Lite is coming, rollout possible month
Huawei and Honor have officially informed that the VoWiFi feature for smartphones is active in developing and according to a new it seems like the company has finally developed the feature for a few of its devices in India.
According to the latest builds found on Firmware Finder, the next EMUI update for Honor 8X and Honor 10 Lite will bring the Voice over WiFi feature on Jio and Airtel network. The update also includes February 2020 security patch.
As we reported, that Honor has already started to roll out February security patches for its devices. So we could expect that a new update for these smartphones may drop this month.
The Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) service, also called Wi-Fi Calling, enables users to use smartphones that support VoWiFi to dial numbers to use voice or video calls when a Wi-Fi connection is available. Users can even make VoWiFi call in Airplane mode.
Both Honor 8X and Honor 10 lite recently upgraded to the EMUI 10 and we can assume that Honor may roll the same feature update to other eligible devices including Honor 10.
We’ll keep you posted on this matter.
