Dear Huawei P20/P20 Pro users, are you still waiting for the EMUI 9.0?

Huawei has now started rolling out EMUI 9.0 OS based on Android 9 Pie to its P20 series of smartphones globally. The new update brings all the Pie goodness including full-screen gestures and a new UI.

We are receiving many messages/comments from users – saying they didn’t receive the EMUI 9.0 update yet. Many users around the globe are still waiting for the major OS update.

How to update to Android 9.0 Pie/EMUI 9.0

In the response to the question, Huawei replied:

“The Android P (EMUI 9.0) updates will be available for Huawei P20 Pro. However, the updates will be released in batches based on your region. Keep an eye on your notifications for the latest update.”

“We are actively developing and testing the P update to ensure the best performance for you” the company added.

Sadly, the EMUI 9.0 update timeline can go up to February or end of this month.

“If you own an unlocked (Not on carrier contract) version of P20, you will be getting the EMUI 9.0 update before February. If you have bought the device in a carrier contract, you will be getting the update in the coming months.”
