Huawei Y9s starts receiving EMUI 10, Y9 Prime 2019 EMUI 10 in progress

Huawei Y9s was launched last year featuring 6.59-inch full-view display, 48MP triple camera setup and pop-up selfie camera, this phone is also launched as Huawei P Smart Pro in some European markets.

Huawei Y9s introduced with EMUI 9.1 onboard as well as Google Mobile Services (GMS). Now users of this phone start to receive EMUI 10 around the globe.

Note: Huawei has just begun the rollout and will expand it gradually.

The Android 10 based EMUI 10 brings new changes in the UX design including Magazine Style UI layout, Morandi Colors, Dark Mode, Golden Icons, New Animations, Improved privacy features.

The EMUI 10 also has improved software enhancements including GPU Turbo technology improving graphics processing by 60%, while Link Turbo lets smartphones access multiple networks like 4G and WiFi to provide 70% faster network speed. EROFS super file system improves Android’s random read by 20%, and additionally, the Ark Compiler also smooths third-party applications by 60%.

Versions:

Huawei Y9s is receiving EMUI 10 with EMUI version 10.0.0.186 and 10.0.0.189 in some other countries while both versions weigh over 3.5GB.

Huawei Y9 Prime 2019:

In early January Huawei begin sending EMUI 10 for Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 in India and also start expanding it to other markets. However, it was later halted due to some unspecified reasons.

Today we’ve confirmed that the rollout is resumed and expanding to markets outside of India with EMUI 10.0.0.176 and size over 3.2GB.

How to update:

Via Settings:

1. Open Settings
2. Click on ‘System’
3. Click on ‘Software update’
4. Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
5. Click on ‘Download and install’

Via HiCare:

1. Open HiCare app
2. Click on ‘Services’ tab
3. Click on ‘Update’
4. Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
5. Click on ‘Download and install’
