Huawei Nova 3i receives January security update

Huawei P20 and P20 Pro in China are the first phones to grab the January security update and another old smartphone – Huawei Nova 3i is also receiving a new version upgrade with the latest security enhancements.

The update for Huawei Nova 3i brings the January 2020 security patch, providing fixes to 2 critical and 16 high levels of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) found in the recent build. The new update only brings the security patch and there aren’t any additional improvements.

Version:

The January 2019 security patch for Huawei Nova 3i comes with EMUI version 9.1.0.275 and 110MB size.

Note: EMUI version and size may vary in different markets.

EMUI 10:

Huawei has officially said that Huawei Nova 3i is not compatible with EMUI 10/Android 10 as it requires higher hardware specifications for optimal performance.

Via Settings:

2. Click on ‘System’
3. Click on ‘Software update’
4. Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
5. Click on ‘Download and install’

Via HiCare:

1. Open HiCare app
2. Click on ‘Services’ tab
3. Click on ‘Update’
4. Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES’
5. Click on ‘Download and install’
