Honor Play users aren’t happy about not qualifying for EMUI 10/Android 10 update

Honor has recently confirmed that the Honor Play will not get EMUI 10/Android 10 update, which is surely not the news that Honor Play users want to hear.

So what Honor really said about Honor Play upgrade to the latest software.

“We regret to inform you that EMUI 10.0 / Android Q will not be available for your device due to hardware limitations as it requires higher hardware specifications for optimal performance. We appreciate your understanding and patience”

Honor previously said that the company is evaluating the smartphone for its eligibility for the EMUI 10 update, which is now failed to get a spot in the queue.

Launched in 2018, Honor Play comes with high specs featuring a 6.3-inch full view FHD+ display with HDR support, powered by Kirin 970 processor, 4/6GB of RAM, a 64GB of storage, 3750mAh battery. For photography, it has a dual rear camera setup of 16MP+2MP and a 16MP selfie camera.

Initially, the Honor Play came with EMUI 8.2 (Android 8.1) and currently updated to EMUI 9.1 (Android 9).

Honor View 10, launched in 2017 is confirmed to receive the EMUI 10 update. The original specs of View10 include Kirin 970, 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage, 3750mAh battery, and 5.99 FHD+ display.

Meanwhile, Honor 10, which was also launched around the same time as Honor Play and shares almost the same specs are confirmed for the update.

By taking an instance of Honor’s words, there may be incompatibility found in the Honor Play’s hardware but what would it be?
