Huawei 5G commercial contracts exceeds 60 and shipped over 400,000 base stations: Q3 2019

On October 16, Huawei announced that it has signed more than 60 commercial contracts for 5G with leading global carriers and shipped more than 400,000 5G base stations.

“In the carrier business, commercial deployment of 5G networks around the world has sped up. Huawei has continued to launch innovative solutions with leading carriers like 5G Super Uplink, smart & simplified transport networks.” said the company.

Back in June, Huawei announced that it has so far gained 50 5G commercial contracts and shipped more than 150,000 base stations. Moreover, it’s looking to over 500,000 bases stations by this year.

According to the information, Huawei’s annual production next year is expected to surpass 1.5 million units, compared with 600,000 estimated for this year, and some of them also include parts made in the US.

Ren Zhengfei, Huawei founder and CEO said the company is planning to sell more than 2 million 5G base stations over the next two years, despite US ban.

Ren also said that Huawei will start mass-producing of 5G base stations in October without using US components.
