Android 16 may enhance night photography on camera apps
Android 16 could amaze users with exciting features and one of these may help camera apps to offer the best night photography. Yes, the OS can enhance the way you click images on Instagram, Snapchat, and any other camera app in dim light conditions.
Google is working on a new API called Night Mode Indicator. This tool will be an extension of the third-party camera apps. They can use it to trigger night mode in low-lighting environments and capture the best portraits or record a beautiful moment.
Night Mode Indicator API will enable camera apps to detect when a device is in a darker environment. After detection, the feature will allow the application to turn on the Night Mode Camera Extention automatically if required.
This feature will be a part of Android’s camera extensions in Android 16 and let the third-party applications use some device-specific camera features like Portrait Boken and Face Retouching. Thus, you will get better shots regardless of the model.
Simply put, social media apps with camera access can alter the photo-taking settings and deliver brighter shots with less noise. Instagram already supports this feature, but with Android 16 more camera apps can opt for the best night photography.
It is a perfect feature for photo-lovers or content creators who prefer making high-quality content in low-light scenarios. The feature is currently in development. However, it would be worth seeing how it enhances the overall photography experience.
