Android 15 QPR1 devices now support 7-day Privacy Dashboard

If your Google Pixel device is running on the Android 15 QPR1 beta then you can experience the new 7-day Privacy Dashboard. The feature was expected to come with Android 16. But it’s already here for some users via the Google Play system update.

Privacy dashboard is a useful feature that shows what kind of data the apps are using on Android devices. It detects which app codes are accessing your private data. Simply put, the feature tells how each app uses permissions on your handsets.

Google recently showed a new Privacy Dashboard with 7-day app reports. It can show up to 7 days of app permission usage as well as relevant activities. Users can also opt for the “24-hour” option instead of 7-day analysis as per their preference.

Since the feature was shown in the Android 16 DP1, Pixel users expected it to arrive by next year. However, Google served this offering with a new update.

As noted by 9to5Google, all those Pixel devices that received the November 2024 Google Play system update and run on the Android 15 QPR1 version now support the 7-day Privacy Dashboard. Some users on the Reddit site also confirmed that their device now has the new privacy capability, even before the Android 16 rollout.

Eligible device users can easily switch from a 24-hour view to a 7-day view in the Privacy Dashboard. The feature now shows a detailed timeline of all apps using significant permissions of your device like Location, Camera, and Microphone.

In case your device is running on the Android 15 QPR1 feature and you have not received the new feature yet, then check on your device for the new Play system update.

  • Go to Settings
  • Now select the Security & Privacy section
  • Click on System & Updates
