Huawei grew 23% YoY in Q3 2024 global foldable shipment market

Despite Samsung’s new Galaxy Z6 series, the worldwide foldable sector has gone down by 1%. This has ultimately impacted the growth of several tech vendors.
Although Huawei remained intact from this situation and grew 23% YoY in the Q3 2024 global foldable shipment market. The company obtained 15% of the worldwide foldable market share which is a 2% increment from the last year (same period).
The research firm says that Huawei has continued to grow in foldable sales. A major credit goes to the Mate X5 and Pocket 2 in China. These devices led the company’s foldable sales to a new level. Meanwhile, the Nova Flip also obtained a lot of attention due to its cost-effective and AI properties.
Let’s not forget about the world’s first tri-fold handset Mate XT. The OEM has already sparked the speculation of Mate XT’s global launch. Hence, worldwide consumers are now eagerly waiting for the triple foldable smartphone.
Huawei has also unveiled the Mate X6 foldable with powerful features and tech-pack hardware capabilities. Counterpoint expects Huawei to drive further growth with the launch of the Mate X6 in Q4 2024.
Samsung has obtained the first spot in the global market but sees a decline of 21% in shipments. Huawei ranked second while Honor is in third place with a 121% YoY increase in sales. Motorola gained the fourth spot and is also seeing a rise of 164% YoY.
Among all competitors, Xiaomi has achieved the highest YoY shipment growth: 185%, thanks to its first flip-flop foldable MIX Flip that made its way into the global market.
