Huawei Mate X6 Revealed: Same fold with new style

Huawei has revealed the Mate X6 foldable smartphone for customers and the company will be opening the reservations for this device today.

An image shared on Weibo unfolds the device’s outlook, identical to the Mate X5. There’s not much has been revealed about this model but the image gives us a good look at the phone’s rear.

It has that diamond-cut camera design with four camera openings, we’ve seen this camera in its predecessor. But a closer look at the camera shows that the bump has been redesigned and the metal finishing is now limited on top, which resembles Mate 70. Meanwhile, the periscope camera is switched from right to left.

According to the existing smartphone specifications, the Huawei Mate X5 equips a 50MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 12MP telephoto camera with f/3.4 aperture. The last one is a depth sensor. We’ll have to find out whether the company upgrades any of these camera specs.

The teaser image shows two new back panels with a texture similar to Mate 70 and another variant has red plain leather identical to Mate XT triple foldable.

There’s a pretty big chance that the new Mate X6 may sport the same screens as its predecessor including a 6.4-inch cover screen that could be used when the device is folded.

It equips a 7.85-inch foldable OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Both of these screens offer FHD+ resolution and Kunlun glass for the cover display.

Among other changes, the chipset could be getting an upgrade but nothing is certain at the moment.

Huawei has organized a launch event on November 26 for Mate 70 series and Mate X6 will tag along for full unveiling.
